Can't get this to work on my laptop with windows 8.1? Have uninstalled software and drivers and reinstalled. Program says " scanning for devices" but just locks up and does not respond. Never appears on menu bar like it has loaded.
Works on a windows 7 desktop machine with 1.32. Any thoughts? Thanks

The problem is probably in some bluetooth device that is connected to your notebook (probably internal).
You can fix the problem by going to the Device Manager and then in the COM & LPTs assign higher COM port for the BT device.
Alternatively you can assign lower COM port for the USB interface.
Then it will work fine.

Thanks as always for the quick response!
When I go to device manager, the Device Silicon Labs CP210x is not under Ports/Coms or USB devices even though the installer said it placed the software and the USB drivers.
Under Coms/Ports LPT I have three entries:
Communications Port (Com1)
Standard Serial over Bluetooth Link (com 3)
Standard Serioal over Bluetooth Link (com 4)

Thank you for the info.
In this case there is some problem with the drivers.
Please try to install the software again (with USB drivers).
After the installation there must be Silicon Labs CP210x device under COM & LPTs. Ideally it should be at COM2, but right now, there is no USB interface detected.
Are LEDs on the USB interface On? There should be RED and BLUE lights.

Sorry, user problem. I moved the ports around and it seems to be working though the spirit USB device is not using the port that I selected but is working.
Thanks
Thanks
Could you describe what problem do you have?
It can be downloaded just by clicking on the web page. What web browser do you use?
