Tomáš, somebody mentioned in HF that SPM4649T receiver is "not recommended to use with Spirit? Is that true?

I dont know anything about it, but what others are telling that SPM4649T has limited range which is the biggest issue.
But since we have no experience with this yet, I can't unfortunately tell you anything relevant.

The receiver is not designed for helicopters in reality.

In any way it will be fully supported sooner or later including the telemetry.

Well, honestly, Spektrum also says that you cannot use Satellites alone without a receiver, so... I don't really care what they say. Many people using that receiver on small helis, I'll do the same. Thanks mate.

Well, I tried and SPM4649T did not work at all with uSpirit.

I first bound it to a copied model on my DX8 using a LiFe pack I had laying around, and binding went very smoothly.

Then I disconnected the Sat from the Spirit, removed the Capacitor and the power of the RPM from the RUD Spirit port and connected the SPM4649T there.

TX connects fine, but no way to have the Spirit react in any way to stick movements on the Diagnostic screen. The ESC is beeping all the time (about no signal I assume). I tried with and without wizard, several times. The Spirit "connects" but does not receive (well, probably it just does not understand) any channel.

I *assume* it could be the eternal problem of SRXL, that is the lack of standardization, most probably this receiver speaks a slightly different "dialect".

Any way to have it working soon?

I think that this receiver could be a big hit for uSpirit on small helis like Oxy 2.

ON EDIT: Brain already supports this receiver since January.

Thank you for the report.

The support will be introduced approximately in 1 week. We have the receiver on the way.

We are playing with the receiver and we have found you can normally connect it to the unit and use it right now.
Just bind it and connect to the SAT port.
Ideally you should not power it from the SAT port, but from the RUD.

Set the receiver type to Spektrum DSM2/DSMX.

The problem is, that the receiver is not outputting channels in the SRXL format normally, but in the same way as satellites.

Thanks, I'll try.

I think the receiver can do both protocols, nornal SAT and SRXL. You need the programming cable to change the setting. But that's something I read, not written in the manual as far as I know.
