Hello,

I'm having an issue getting GeoLink to work while ESC telemetry is plugged in. When GeoLink is the only thing plugged in SAT port (2) everything boots up and initializes fine. Solid blue light on the GeoLink, computer connects, heading is good.

BUT if I plug the ESC telemetry wire from Hobbywing to Spirit 2 SAT1, the GeoLink won't initialize (no blue light at all).

If I disconnect GeoLink and connect the telemetry cable, it works fine.

They both work fine by themselves but won't work when connected at the same time.

Because the Telemetry wire from Spirit is on back order, I made one by removing the middle power wire (typically red) and using only the negative wire, (typically black or brown) and the signal wire (orange). Looking at the SAT1 port, it's connected left to right:
Signal (from ESC )|Not used(formally power from ESC programming port)|Ground (from ESC).

What am I missing? Thanks for helping in advance!

Hi, regarding the manual Geolink should be connected to Sat 2 and HW to Sat 1.

Geolink should be on Sat Port 2 and Telme on Port 1

Ah, beaten to it!!

Geolink connects to SAT port 2, Hobbywing TELEM-UNI cable connects to SAT port 1, so it looks like you have them reversed.

I made a mistake in my original post..

The GeoLink IS and was connected to SAT2
Telemetry IS and was connected to SAT1

Still the problem persists.

In another thread, Thomas said to make a TELEM-UNI cable, just remove the red wire (middle + power I'm assuming) but looking at the website, it shows the two different connection ends to be soldered to a board or something in heat shrink. What's in the heat shrink?

Hello,

If you will use wrong selfmade cable for telemetry then very likely it will damage unit, GeoLink and even ESC.
So we highly recommend to use original cables.
RED wire must be really disconnected as described in the manual.

The circuit board is used to make connecting the 2 different connectors easier. Just connect the 2 brown wires, and the 2 orange wires and DO NOT connect the RED. If it doesn't work, you connected the orange and brown the wrong way rounds. Swap them over. DO NOT CONNECT THE RED WIRE.
