I have been setting up an aircraft in 'Aero' with a SpiritGTR, and had the aircraft flying fine without the gyro.
I had noticed before I flew that the gyro compensation for the elevator was the wrong way around, so did not use gyro!
I am used on the helis, in several different FBL software programs, to seeing the 'Elevator Bar' in software diagnostic page rise to the top when I pull on the elevator, i.e. to raise the nose.
Now I have all control surfaces operating correctly and the gyro compensating on all surface correct, but with the elevator bar moving up when I 'push' the elevator - i.e. nose down !!
Is this correct on the Spirit Aero Software for planes, just seems weird and unexpected !!
Andy
Elevator Bar moving wrong. Probably pretty stupid enquiry?
Hello,
this is not correct unfortunately.
You have to reverse the channel in the radio and tben in the Servos tab - CH4.
Then it will be good.

Hi ZeXx86,
I have been flying flybarless helicopters and gyro assisted aircraft for many years, mostly VBar initially and subsequently Bavarian Demon, but several others too, over many years.
I have my Spirit GTR unit set with wiring connections towards the nose of the aircraft.
I have gyro orientation set to Horizontal + 180 degrees. Red side of GTR uppermost.
I have all bars in diagnostic tab moving in correct direction and have all control surfaces moving as expected.
Now gyro correction is good in all axes except pitch, where it is inverted !!!!!!!!! - when I force the aircraft to pitch down, the gyro drives the nose further down.
I may be being stupid somewhere, entirely possible, but I have some years familiarity with these things, and don't know where I am going wrong!
Please help!
Regards,
Andy

Hi ZeXx86,
I have been flying model aircraft for over 50 years, full size for over 40, I know what I am looking at, generally, sorry probably being very stupid!
I have reset this GTR back to factory settings, because I previously had it in a helicopter and have gone over my steps many times here. I am at a loss at the moment !!
Every incorrect gyro orientation will have one further adverse effect so can't assume that is wrong. The aircraft flies well without gyro, i.e. nothing wrong mechanically!
Regards,
Andy

Hi,
1. - if you have correctly entered the orientation of the unit in the software and saved it, then the next step is
2. - so that in the Diagnostics tab, the green sliders move in accordance with the levers of the transmitter (if it is not there, use the reverse of the channels in the transmitter).
3. - probably now the control surfaces will move differently than you want, but you can fix that in the next step in the Servo / Servo reverse tab.
Well, now everything should be right. I have a lot of Spirit units on heli and planes as well. There is always an error only in these 3rd steps for users.

Thanks Habásek,
Well yes! I am well familiar with these programs!
Unfortunately, with this GTR I have correctly entered its mounting orientation, have the correct diagnostic bar movements, have correct control surface movements, but STILL have an incorrect gyro compensation on the elevator !!! ??

ok, can I ask you to send a photo of the location of the unit and the settings from the unit? ... *.4ds
We will come to the error.

These two show cabling attached toward the front of the fuselage.
Code file will come shortly!
Thanks,
