Hello,
I have a problem with my Spirit GTR after a firmware update.
What happened:
- My Spirit GTR was running firmware 3.7.0.
- I started the update to 4.0.5 using the Spirit Settings Windows app.
- After the update the unit is no longer detected by the app.
Current behaviour:
- When I power the unit, the status LED lights up blue only briefly and then goes off. It does not pulse or blink quickly.
- The COM port appears in the Windows Device Manager when I plug in the USB interface.
What I have already tried:
- Different USB cable and different USB port
- Reinstalled the software including the driver option, then rebooted
- Recovery mode: selected the correct COM port in the Connection tab, selected the firmware in the Update tab and pressed Flash. The app either freezes or shows the error message "Update failed..."
System: Windows 11, Spirit Settings version 4.0.5
Is there a way to recover the unit?
Thank you very much!
Edy

Hello,
yes, unit can be still recovered.
1. Start the software
2. Press CTRL + ALT + H
3. Press the Flash button and confirm update.
4. Then power up the unit
Updating should start immediately after powering up the model.

Hello
Thanks to your instructions, I was able to complete the update successfully.
During the update, the LED was flashing. At the end, I received this message. After that, the Spirit did not restart automatically.
I closed the application on my computer, disconnected the Spirit from the power supply, and then reconnected it. The Spirit now starts up as before (the LED briefly lights up when it is connected to the power supply).
The application on my computer does not detect the Spirit.
Best regards
Edy

Hello,
can you please send me a message with serial number of your unit? It seems we have to recover part of the memory, because during update it was lost. It can be done using special firmware. Old 3.7 had no backup that is used by more recent firmwares yet in case like this. So after update, everything will be OK and the issue should never happen again even if you interrupt power during flashing.
