WiFi Link Connection Error when using web interface
hmm, screenshot didn't attach for some reason, so trying again... and reason for screenshot is I had to use my wife's laptop and she wasn't available, so I could get on get the app up, but didn't have access to her email account to send it to myself so I could post it.
Thank you, this is very helpful.
From this we can conclude just that:
a) Wifi Link communication cable is connected improperly
b) Wifi-Link is powered from a battery or other source.
If the same Wifi-Link is working well with other unit, then there is basically no other choice.

Hello,
I'm new to Spirit System. I have owned a Spirit 2 with the wifi link for a week.
I noticed exactly the same behavior as cyclenut. The Spirit 2 is working fine.
It can be configured perfectly with the USB-cable. I do not have a bluetooth module.
The wifi link is correctly connected, as described in the manual. The website is easy to access with the IP 192.168.4.1.
As soon as I want to call up the spirit-settings 'Enter the Spirit Settings!', it comes briefly ok, then 'connection problem' and I see a spinning circle.
If I use the Windows program 'Spirit settings' and enter the IP, it does not work either.
I have also used the Android Spirit app, without success. The error is following:
Wifi State: connected
Spirit unit: Disconnected
"Spirit unit not found"
I have tested the firmware versions 2.7.1 and 2.8.0, without success.
Currently the Spirit 2 and the wifi link module have the firmware 2.8.0
I would be happy to use the wifi link module.
Any idea?

Hi,
I have exactly the same problem...I cant get into spirit settings by wifi link with my spirit 2.
I can connect to the wifi link and work with its wifi settings but if I click on the spirit settings tab It displays connection error than it tries to connect again and again displays connection problem. Sometimes when Im fast enough I can get into the spirit settings, change something but in few secconds it disconnects again.
The unit is connected properly...to sys port and power source is receiver channel which is powered by spirit by sbus.

Hi,
could you please take a photo of the Wifi-Link connection to the Spirit unit?
Thank you very much.

My pictures of settings and connecting by browser and app. Ive tried also connecting through my wifi at home by mobile and pc browser.
https://www.rajce.net/a16637271
Nothing worked.
You can see that I can connect to wifi link and change e.g. AP/client mode, but as soon as I try to enter spirit setting it will disconnect. Same while connected by home wifi.
It was with version 2.7...then I updated everything and gave it one another try...but again no success.
I planned to fine tune settings in the field through mobile...so Im sad that it doesnt work.

I thought photos of the wiring.
Basically if you will disconnect communication wire from the SYS port it will work in the very same way I guess.
So I am afraid probably the cable is not connected properly in the unit (wrong way?)
There might be some confusion because Spirit 2 has different connector layout than other units.

My spirit is hidden inside the frame so pictures dont show much. But here it is.
The first connector is TX/RX from wifi link and its on left side of the unit (TX on top) in SYS port. I did the wiring exactly as manual says and Ive reconnected it many times as I have to use PC to set unit...its improbable that I did mistake everytime...
BTW BEC goes to the spirit from ESC with its signal wire. RX is powered by sbus from spirit and wifi link power cable goes to RX channel.
I can try if it will work with power cable connected straight to the spirit...I cant think of another possible cause than that or SW/HW problem.
