Spirit Pro --- Spektrum DX9 --- Jive Pro

I'm setting up Spirit Pro, Spektrum DX9, and Kontronik Jive Pro.

1) I've bought the telemetry lead for the Jive Pro which has the single pin/connector (female) which connects to the elevator pin in the Spirit as per user guide photo.

2) The lead which connects the SPM receiver to the Spirit is a full 3 pin plug with just the orange wire connected to AIL.

Therefore if the SPM is always required for telemetry, then it seems as if the single pin mentioned in 1) above can't be plugged in because the 3 pin plug mentioned in 2) above is already there. In other words it's simply in the way.

So I think I'm missing something here, as how can the single pin mentioned in 1) above ever be used?

Should I simply remove the single pin's wire from its plastic case/body and insert it into the ELE of the 3 pin plug?

Yes.
Alternatively you can get a plastic for single pin also for the integration cable. Then you can disconnect anything separately.
