[SOLVED] GT: Realtime Log not Triggered

In case you do not know something or you are not sure, here is the right place for your question.

Im just configuring a brand new Spirit GY.
After configuring the Realtime Logging according to the manual, I'm not seeing any logs saved.
Could it be because I'm handling the throttle channel only through the Spektrum AR8010T receiver? The Spirit never sees the TH signal and the manual says "Without started motor logging will not trigger".
Could this be the reason the log is not triggering?
If so, how can I use the logs without sending the Throttle signal to the unit?
Thanks
Chris

Hello Chris

it's the vibration level that is used (at least it has been in the past) to trigger the log... iirc it starts recording as soon as the vibration level is >= 3. so maybe you wont see it on bench... but it is working in flight!

I did happen to look at vibration too, and I can't remember if it was above 3 or not. The aileron vibration was about 15 but the overall number was low.
Not sure, but I really hope it works without the Spirit needing to see the throttle signal.

From the manual: "Logging is automatically started without any intervention. It is completely seamless so pilot do not have to care about the feature. As soon as unit will detect a motion or vibration from the rotating parts, it is started. Without started motor logging will not trigger."

Maybe I'm wrong and 'started motor' does not mean that the Spirit itself "started the motor".

I'll try with blades next.

I won't be able to get to the field for some time, so I'm trying again on the bench.
I've run the motor up to 2000rpm and then it's showing vibrations up to 27, and then I lifted and moved the heli as if it's flying.
Still no Realtime logs saved.

I've attached my setup files, in case anyone wants to take a look how I've configured the logging.
I'm really stumped.

Thanks

Hello,

if you are looking at Vibration Level at the Spectrum Analysis then it might not correspond to value of the overall Vibration Level (visible with telemetry).
Both are measured differently.

I recommend to just try in the air. If logging is enabled then there is no other reason why it should not work.

Hi Thomas,
Okay, good to know.
I'll wait till I can actually fly it.

I'm very much looking forward to using this log, I think it will be very useful.
Thank you for your reply.

Chris.

I activated the logging on the workbench with a massager to achieve the necessary vibration level. Stupid idea, but it works.
