Hi,
I have a problem with my failsafe settings using the following equipment:
Spirit Pro, Spektrum AR9020 & DX9 & TM1000, Hobbywing Platinum v3 ESC
I'm using SRXL as connection between FBL and RX and setup Spirit to use
the Governor.
Everything is working perfectly but failsafe is not correct, it spools up the
motor to the maximum and I totally don't know why. I've repeated the bind
procedure multiple times with the same result all the time.
In the channel mapping window I see correct movement of throttle in fail safe
to zero. But in the diagnostic tab the throttle goes to -24% when entering the
fail safe mode.
Any hints?

Hi,

it looks like the throttle is too low.
You can try to re-bind the receiver with little bit higher value of the throttle.

This mean that increasing value for the Hold mode should help so you will not see -24%, but higher value.

What value do you see in the diagnostic tab, when your throttle curve is 0%?

When throttle curve is set to 0% it shows 0% in the diagnostic tab.
Also I have set Hold to 0% (and shows up as 0% in diagnostic).
Only if I shut off the transmitter to simulate lost of signal it shows
-24% in the diag tab after ~1 second and the motor starts spinning.

You can try to download this firmware:
http://spirit-system.com/dl/fw/spirit-f ... ar7700.4df

There is slight modification also for new Spektrum SRXL protocol to support latest receivers.

This should help you.

I also have a fail safe problem with the AR9020/SRXL/Spirit combo. I have configured all channels to go to neutral position, except for throttle that goes into Hold. On the regular outputs on the AR9020 the servos goes their neutral position (preset for failsafe), but when SRXL is used, pitch will not return to neutral when radio signal is lost (radio is turned off to test fail safe positions). Ail and Elev goes to neutral position as they are supposed to though. The same happens on the diagnose screen when connected to the software. Ail and Elev returns to their neutral positions, but is stuck where it was when signal was lost. Could this be a bug in the AR9020, not transferring all the fail safe information it should via SRXL?

I've switched to the 1.3.3ar7700 firmware and now it is working as expected :)
What are the changes in this one and is it safe to use it?

Nice. Then I'll try that firmware, and see if that corrects the issue I'm having also.

I have the AR7700, and the SRXL didn't work on it with spirit, because there was a little change in SRXL protocol in the new AR7700 receiver. Thomas helped me with this firmaware, it is working now, but now i went back to see the failsafe, and it isn't working with AR7700 :( Thomas please look after this!

Thanks! :)

Gtamas: After redownloading and reflashing this file it should be fine.

Nope. After reflashing the new firmware (v1.3.3), pitch still won't go to its fail safe position when signal is lost.
