Package opened?

I received my first ever Spirit Pro late last week, either Thursday or Friday. I have some bearings that I am waiting on and was tinkering when I decided to dry-fit the Spirit Pro onto the receiver plate for my 550E. I then noticed that the box seal was broken and that there is some small evidence that it has already been opened. What should I do? I have written to ESpiritModel, from whom I purchased my Spirit Pro. This makes me nervous. But, pending their response, is there anything that I need to be aware of? Or anything to lookout for?

I just also noticed that the package seals are broken on both ends of the box.

Hi,

absolutely this is very bad and you can return the package.
There is no reason why they should open it. Was "PRO" label there too?

We are focusing on that everything is perfectly new, clean, undamaged without any scratches on the box and in perfect condition when customer receive it.

So I am also interested in their response and we will contact them in this matter immediately.

Is your 56-41-ea-ff-15-.. ?

It looks like you have received used package - this is absolutely unthinkable for us. We require that the package is perfect in each aspect.

Yes, that was written there by someone else prior to receipt.

Not exactly. Is it OK to publish the SN on the net?

Does this mean that they sent me a returned item?

You do not have to post it. We are still waiting for the response from Esprit.

Here is their response:
We always inspect all imported products, also firmware was updated.

We have to consult some things with Esprit, but it looks like it is really new - you should not see any "finger prints" on the fixture foam when you open the package.
I have received message, that hologram was damaged during shipping - so for the future we will find better solution so there is no possibility to happen again.

Opening should not happen by anybody else, but customer, because all parts are already examined by us and we can guarantee that everything is there during shipping to dealers.

Well, there are no 'finger prints' that I can see. The tape appears to be new in a zip-loc bag. It appears that everything is fine.

But, why did they upgrade the firmware?

I would imagine it was so that you had the "latest and greatest" version. Im not sure I would like them to do that if it ment they had to open the package without properly resealing it.
