Hi All,

today i received my spirit pro (firmware 1.3.2) and tried now to bind my brand new Spektrum DX9 radio with the Spirit Pro using two HA412X satellites.
There is no bind mode in the dsmx option (bind plug in Elle/Pit/Ail) and also not in the dsm2 option (bind plug in the Sys).

I double checked it with the same environment - but instead the spirit pro with the spektrum receiver AR9020X - this works fine with both satellites.
So the satellites are OK.
But with the spirit, there is no bind mode. The satellites doesn't have flashing lights at the beginning. Yes, i put the bind plug in the right position ;-)
Any bind request from the radio fail.

I tried the wizard but fail in the 2. Step :-(

Any ideas?

best regards

armin

MacOS 10.9.5 / USB connection works / Spirit Software shows connection and the device serial number

Hi,

is the Receiver type parameter configured to Spektrum DSM2/X? If no, then binding will not work.

After changing any settings it is necessary to save it to the unit else it is lost after power is disconnected.

Hi,

yes, in the "general" tab is the option "Spektrum" - and also saved on the device.
This was the step 1 in the wizard and worked fine.
But after that - no flashing lights on the satellites - some restarts and reconnects later - no flashing lights on the satellites.

some changes tried
- change from Spektrum to Futaba and saved
- change back to Spektrum from Futaba and saved
-> always reconnected and power off/on

Bind plug in the right positions dsmx/dsm2 -> no flashing lights.

any other ideas?

best regards

Nothing else plugged into the Spirit?

How do you power the Spirit?
At which port?

Hi,

the power is on AUX1
I tried
- Power AUX1, BIND plug in ELE/PIT/AIL without servos
- Power AUX1, BIND plug in ELE/PIT/AIL with servos

All with or without SYS connection tested.

See picture enclosed.

Any tipps?

I recommend to do this:
1. check if the update is working for you correctly to be 100% sure - reflash firmware version 1.3.2.
2. If it will be flashed, you can do this again, but this time, press CTRL+B in the Update tab.
This will activate special mode, when bootloader in the unit is rewritten too.

Then you can try to bind again.

In the worst case, you can bind the satellites with normal receiver to your profile in the transmitter.
Then you can plug satellites back to the unit and signal input should work correctly.

Done - but the device is brand new and shipped with 1.3.2

Done - process was successful.
Connect to the software works and all steps of the wizard are done.

No way - doesn't work

Done - the light on the satellites are on on does not switch off
BUT - no reaction of any servo, no reaction of the ESC/BL Motor

Change again back to the Spektrum AR9020 receiver - all servos works fine. The ESC and BL Motor also works.

So no way at the moment to get it work - did i got a defect device?
I have also a Futaba FF7 (T7C) radio inclusive R617FS receiver- can i try it with this radio too? How can i test it with this radio?

best regards

This looks very strange. It looks as when receiver type is not saved so that during power up there is different receiver.
There is no way how connection for both satellites can be faulty (especially at the same time).

So to be perfectly sure, when you are trying to bind satellites (and use them) there is Spektrum DSM2/X receiver type in the unit after power up - so you do not have to set it again. Am I right?
Once it is saved, it should be there all the time.

Even if satellites were not bound with the unit connection should work. If you are trying it with one satellite, it is very important to plug it to the Primary port. If satellite is in secondary port only, it will not work at all.

Futaba should work without any problem too.

The receiver type in the unit is always "Spektrum DSM2/X" - no need to set it again

yes, should be, but isn't

I know - it's in the manual and also in the forum described - but i never tried with one only.
There are always both satellites plugged in.

I don't know, how this works with the S-Bus, because i didn't work with this radio very often. I don't have any experience with the futaba radio

I invest a lot of time without a positiv result.
The start of the unit needs a lot of time - 60/70 sec flashing - a connect to the software isn't possible at that time. After the 70 sec the connect is possible.
So again - is it possible, that i got a defective unit? Do you have checked it, before you sent it to me?

best regards
