I have a new Jeti DC-14 and am setting up with a REX 7 receiver in my T-Rex 550E V2. All seems good so far, however, both manuals (Spirit Pro and Jeti) say that setting up is possible without the PC via the DC-14 but neither say how this is done.
Is there a set-up guide?
Jeti DC-14 Set-up Guide
Hello,
you have to set the REX to EX-BUS for the port (device manager or jeti-box), you want to connect with the Spirit. Then you have to set the Spirit to EX-BUS and do the channel mapping via PC and also set the servo travel so, that it meets the 100% in the Spirit PC-software (it was about 68% in my DS16). Remember to save the settings to the unit.
Also don't forget to copy the Spirit.bin from the Spirit web-site into the device folder of the DS-14.
Now you can find the Spirit in the device manager and when you select it, you can configure the settings.

Thanks W.W., what is your source for this information?W.W. wrote:Hello,

These are Information from either forums (jetiforum.de, spirit-system.com) and the manuals of transmitter and spirit.
To configure a device in the device manager of the transmitter, the device must have a biderectional link. This is the case for receivers and devices, which are connected to the receiver via EX-Bus (the only supported bidirectional link between receivers and other devices). Additionally there must be a corresponding .bin-file in the \devices folder of the transmitters SD Card (here the 'spirit.bin'), which holds the information, what settings are available and how to set them. The information that you should use the 'spirit.bin' from spirit-system and not the one provided by jetimodel.com in the 4.0 update is from this forum here.
Als long as the unit isn't configured to EX-Bus the configuration from the Transmitter isn't possible. So the basic settings must be applied from the PC. Also the servo travel adjustments have to be set, when connected to the PC, because you can't see the percentage values from the unit in the transmitter and even if you could see them it wouldn't be comfortabe to switch permanently between the device manager and the servo travel adjustments.

Hi there! Where can I pick up the Spirit.bin file mentioned by Wolfgang. He says the file must be from Spirit, not Jeti.ZeXx86 wrote:You can find guide in the Support section, where you have posted this question.

Thanks, missed the link. Now have captured the file and it's in the DC-14.ZeXx86 wrote:You can find everything in the guide that I have sent you. There is link for the file.
The latest Jeti FW is 4.0 and the file comes from 1.3.2. I'll come back if there is any conflict.

Hi again, thanks for the help but unfortunately it didn't work as per your set-up guide as the REX7 is different to the REX9. The path for the configuration in the Jeti DC-14 is:Heliman550 wrote:Thanks, missed the link. Model/Device Explorer/REX7/Alternative Pin Configuration/OutputPin 7E2/EX Bus (This can be either E1 or E2 OutputPin)
Also see the attached pdf for the wiring as installed. Next step is the setting up.
