How? Its greyed out, I have the gyro channel set to rescue and don't use banks until we get an 8th channel.

Do you need me to check this? I'm sure it's by default settings, I dissabled it from the start. I don't see any option in the software too switch the bank manually.

Just to verify - are you starting unit/transmitter with throttle hold active?
Something looks to be out of range during powerup.
If you increase throttle hold position little bit in your transmitter, does it go to 1%? If so, you can return it to 0%.

I always start my transmitter, thr hold on, then I powerup the Spirit. What do you mean 1%?

I think that your problem is related with the transmitter configuration.
Our upcoming firmware will not allow to deactivate governor because of this.
I will contact you regarding this with PM so you can try possible solution.

Indeed, something is not correct - most probably from the beginning and this is the reason why you was afraid about fast spoolup.
You can try the easiest things first - for example just reflash the firmware.
Then you might try to open the software and verify, if you can see Requested RPM there (during the first spoolup).
If not, then the problem is really related with the throttle signal.
