Hello,
Resque only works with the gyro channel for now, but if you activate the gyro channel you can't set the tailgain in the software. Is there a way around this? I never set gains in my transmitter, I like to see and set all gains in the software for all my helis.
Setting tail gain in the software while having resque functi

Deactivate the gyro channel, switching to Stabi modes will still work.
EDIT: not sure anymore. Try.
It could be that if you unassign the gyro channel then you have to use Banks to achieve Rescue.

No resque won't work if you deactivate ch5.

+1 to Coco. Unassign the channel and set to negative in the software for the bank you want to use for rescue. Not sure why you'd want to do that though.
Have not tried it but that's the theory at least

I only want to set a static value for tail gain and also have resque. I don't like setting gains in the transmitter.

Hopefully its possible in the future. For now, How do I set the negatieve for resque? Do I use the same as my possitive gain or does it not matter?

OK it is simple.
1. Unassign the gyro channel and assign a bank switch channel - see screenshot below
2. On Bank 0 set your gyro gain - the knob should now be enabled for editing on the software (rudder gain)
3. On Bank 1 set your gyro gain to the same as Bank 0 only negative. Try -60% to start with.
4. On Bank 1 Stabi tab, enable rescue function
5. Assign a button on your TX to the rescue channel
6. Try it - check the diagnostics tab to ensure the bank switching channel is working as expected. Then try pressing the switch with the unit unplugged from the computer. You should see the swash jump and level out.

I need bankswitching later to set 3 different gains for tail and main and other gov settings per bank later so this isn't what I hoped for. (for instance very important if you use a bank for low rpm)
But for my maiden this weekend, is 55 and -55 always 55 tail gain?

Yes it is. You need a channel to control the rescue there is no other way. As you choose not to use the gyro channel you'll have to loose 1 bank for rescue. You sill have 2 more banks to play with. You won't need as much tuning as you might think- main gain set to 60% and it's done. Tail gain anything between 55-60 and for larger (over 500) models increase the multiplier to 1.1. I used to have different settings for every bank but don't use them as my bank 0 flies awesome in all headspeeds
