450L feeling a bit loose

I've been pushing my 450L a bit harder these days and I've noticed that when I flip the heli or give sharp cyclic moves the heli feels a bit loose, like being suspended by a spring. It just bounces a bit when I release the stick or suddenly stop the manoeuvre.

Running Rail 325 blades, 55% main gain. 0 elevator filter (I have raised it to 1 and main gain to 60% but haven't test flown yet). Cyclic servos are the Align 430M. HS is at ~3000 governed.

Any suggestions on what to tune? I'd just like it to be a bit more solid, like my Goblin 500 sport that stops on a dime with the Spirit.

Hello,

the problem is very probably caused by a slower servos.
Cyclic servos that are in the kit are digital, but there is not a coreless motor. It acts basically as an analog servos.

By decreasing Cyclic Feed Forward it should be improved. Changing Cyclic Gain and Flight Style will help a lot.

What frequency do you use for the cyclic servos?

Hi there

I'm using 150HZ. Should I increase this? Regarding the gain setting should I increase or decrease?

Isnt 3k rpm on a 325 machine a bit on the low side? I fly my g380 at that hs and its got alot of pop but nothing crazy. Have you tried upping your head speed a bit and doing what Tomas suggested to see if you can get it any closer to the way your looking for? Also, I use those servos on my x3 and they are decent enough in my expierence. You could run them higher at 200 hz and still be fine since I believe their specs are 1520, 333.

Ok so I've got my test banks setup- upped gain to 60&63 on the two banks from 55. Reduced cyclic feed forward by 1 and increased elevator filter to 1.

Will up the headspeeds by 100 rpm just in case it helps too - don't really need more pop as its my warmup heli :)

Now waiting for the weekend to test fly...

Great, I recommend to set Elevator Filter to 2-3 in your case. This will reduce bounce-back effect.
