Ok first of all I have studied the DX8 settings that were posted, but I am confused as to how I set the radio up as if I'm using my normal settings like F-mode for the different flight modes like idol 0/1/2? And what would be the bailout switch? If so? I usually run flat curves in idol 1 and 2 and flat above 50% in idol 0. Not sure I wanna do banks just yet, just want to do something close to what I usually do, but have bailout on it. I'm also running an AR7700 w/SAT so which setting do I use.
I guess really I am asking what switch does what when? I've read so much and so many different things I'm all messed up as how to program the radio now I guess...
DX8 settings
I have a new DX7, I'm using it this way: on front left, flight mode switch (normal ide1, idle2) 3 flat curves. On hold (front right switch) 0% flat. When i turn off the hold it goes whatewer mode is the flight mode switch is.Bladetip wrote:Ok first of all I have studied the DX8 settings that were posted, but I am confused as to how I set the radio up as if I'm using my normal settings like F-mode for the different flight modes like idol 0/1/2? For rescue, i assigned the "Gyro" switch. I use it in the middel position during flight, and when shit happens, i just straigt my pointing finger, hit it to the top position (which has the negative gyro gain setting). I like it better, then having it on a momentary switch. I also mixed the front potintiometer with gyro gain, so during the flight i can adjust it for the headspeed, and flight style. And of course it is good only for pinchers, not for those who use only thumbs on stcks.
So you use the hold switch to hold throttle, the idol or F mode switch to switch flight modes, and the gyro for bail? Hmm I pinch also, and this sounds interesting. So your bail out initiates at which ever switch position your Lt switch flight mode is in?? By switching gyro switch up?? Or does the Fmode or whatever switch you use to change flight modes only have a certain position (idol 0/1/ or 2) to activate bailout?
With fliht mode button, you only change the actual throttle curve, and you stay in whatever Bank you are. For bank switching i use the right side switch whick is on top of the radio. And for examle, im in bank0 spirit is set for Rescue Normal. I hit rescue (gyro) button, heli goes into rescue normal mode. When the top right switch is in the middle position, im in bank1. I have all the same settings, except in this bank i set "stabilization mode". So if i hit the gyro switch in bank1, heli goes to stabilize mode, not rescue.Bladetip wrote:So you use the hold switch to hold throttle, the idol or F mode switch to switch flight modes, and the gyro for bail? If it's not clear, i can make a short video about it if you want.

That would be awesome! If it is no trouble....I do much better with visual on a lot of stuff

There are already videos and detailed instructions and discussions for both DX8 and DX9 on helifreak.com
The real thing is... you can do many different things, and you can do it in many different ways, so it's better you first decide exactly what you want to achieve, and then find out, using all this info, how you want/can achieve it.
You can use banks or not, you can use one flight mode for rescue, you can use mixes, you can move around physical switches... the real question is "what do you want to achieve"?

Thats the problem, there are so many different ways to do it, and I have read most of them including the DX8 setup thread....but I am not sure what is what?Coco66 wrote:There are already videos and detailed instructions and discussions for both DX8 and DX9 on helifreak.com

This is all I want to do as stated on my first post....
I want to be able to use my F mode switch to flip between my throttle curves, and then be able to use bail out (where the heli uprights itself if I get whacked out for whatever reason) Probably idol 1 because thats mainly where I fly on a flat curve of 80%.
My problem is i have to see what switch does what...once I see ok flip this switch and this happens or that switch. It's hard for me to get my head around it unless I see it happen...
i'm retarded that way I guess.
