Binding Spirit Pro to Spectrum AR7700 receiver
Hello, I am trying to bind my Spirit Pro to a Spectrum AR7700 receiver that has a satellite 9645 receiver connected to it. I am using the Spektrum DX9 transmitter. The AR7700 is connected to the Spirit using the Spirit's rudder port and the AR7700'S SRXL port per a recommendation. I cannot get the Spirit to bind, only the AR7700, if I use the 7700 bind port. I'm wondering if I have the connection between the Spirit and 7700 receiver in the wrong ports.

I believe you are right- you bind the receiver to the TX and then click on the set failsafe on the spirit unit to remember neutral (0) throttle and collective and channels. I don't think spirit can invoke the bind process with this external receiver.Nade wrote:Hello, I am trying to bind my Spirit Pro to a Spectrum AR7700 receiver that has a satellite 9645 receiver connected to it. My memory is a bit weak but I think that's how I did it on my 7700.
Hello,
AR7700 can be bound separately (without a unit). Binding process of this receiver is not related with FBL system at all.
So you only have to bind it normally and then use it.
Don't forget to set SRXL receiver type in the unit. Then everything will work.

Thanks very much ZeXx86! I spent hours trying to figure this out. I finally have response from the transmitter in the program. Surely a different way of binding and connecting.ZeXx86 wrote:Hello,

One last thing though. The red light on the Spirit is still on. I take this as expected because the binding was not done via the Spirit.
Yes, this is correct. Binding is happening only in the receiver. Only in case of Spektrum satellites that are connected directly to the unit, the unit itself is involved.

Thanks so very much! I have now finished the programming and the heli is ready for a test flight!ZeXx86 wrote:Yes, this is correct. Binding is happening only in the receiver. Only in case of Spektrum satellites that are connected directly to the unit, the unit itself is involved.
Thanks very much jgiannakas! Yup, you had it right! My mistake was selecting the Spektrum DSMX from the receiver list instead of the SRXL which is what it really is.jgiannakas wrote:I believe you are right- you bind the receiver to the TX and then click on the set failsafe on the spirit unit to remember neutral (0) throttle and collective and channels. No worries glad you figured it out
