Trex600 nitro with align governor

Hi

I've set up my Trex600 nitro to run with the Spirit FBL controller.
It already has installed an align HE50H22 governor sensor with magnets set with opposing polarity.
I believe the sensor will happily run up to 8volts, so my BEC with 5volts should power it fine.

Am I ok to cut the satellite type connector off and fit a standard servo type connector?
If this is ok, what is the colour coding?

Thanks

Hi,

this sensor should be powered with 3.3V.
You can use Spektrum connector to power it if you are not using Spektrum satellites and for signal wire you can use servo connector.

Colors are:
white signal (servo connector)
red - ground
black - 3.3V

You can see connection in our manual (Governor section).

In the Spektrum connector you have to swap red and black wires.
I also recommend 2 positive magnets, no negative.

Thanks

I'm using a Spektrum satelite.
Do I need to use a Y splitter?

We have an electronics lab at work I can use to test the sensor, what is the maximum voltage the spirit can accept at the pit input or is it negatively switched?

Yes, you can use Y-cable for Spektrum connectors.

This sensor may not survive higher voltages than 3.3V (it is designed for this voltage).
Unit can be powered with any voltage that is used for servos/receiver.

Pit pin can accept any voltage level that is outputted from available RPM sensors.

Thanks

Set it up in the lab and 3.3v works fine on the pickup.
Fitted it to the helicopter and spirit and tested it with an LED set for a 3.3v output and it switched fine too.
I'll program the spirit and test it over the weekend.

I read you recommend 2 magnets, mine has the 2 but the poles are currently reversed. Are there any settings in the Spirit program between 1 and 2 magnets?

You are welcome!

Yes, you can set magnet count in Sensor Divider parameter.

Can you please confirm that by positive you mean South side of the magnets facing the sensor.

Thanks!

Indeed. It is meant for simplification as not everybody understand which pole is which.

I'm using the sensor spartan. I would suggest to you.
