[SOLVED] Motor will not Run with Spirit
Sorry, just for the sake of clarity, after setting the Koby to APM mode (1), did you do the calibration procedure, that is (IIRC) booting up in APM then going full throttle for 1 second?

Yes, i did that no to avail. I have kontroniks and Jeti Receivers on all my Goblins and they all operate with no problem and setup is like you said, very easy and minimal. The only difference here is the spirit fbl. I plan on taking my BDSX off my Goblin 380 and seeing if the problem still exists. This will tell me for sure if I have an issue with my Spirit. Thanks for all your help.
The easiest thing to try whether the throttle output is working is to connect there a servo (instead of ESC).
Then you can see if it will work correctly and the problem is just in the ESC setup.
All in all, if you want to use governor from the ESC, there will be no problem to use the output from your RX.

Following Tomas tip, I even suggest using a Y-Cable on ESC with a Servo, so you see exactly whats send to ESC by servo movements and how ESC reacts you can move it to RX port and compare.

I will give that a try but if I find that the servo is doing what its suppose to, how will that solve the problem of me not being able to arm the system with the esc plugged into the rx directly and the spirit plugged into the ex-bus. My problem is that the motor, esc, and rx work just fine when the spirit is not plugged into the rx. But the moment i plug in the spirt to the rx, the esc will not arm. Why or how does the spirit cause interference with the esc when the esc is plugged into the rx directly. I don't plan on using the spirit governor so i don't plan on using the aux port but i did try the aux port when i discovered this problem. I would like to keep the esc plugged directly into the rx and only have the spirit communicate to the rx via the ex-bus. I hope I am making sense. I don't mean to come off rude so if i did i certainly apologize. I just can't seem to figure this one out and I certainly appreciate everyone input as it does give me other areas to look into.

There is no real reason why throttle output from the RX should stop working, except that some wiring issue. I believe that if this is solved, everything will work well.
Could you take a detailed photos of the connection - RX and unit, please?
Basically the receiver should not react in any way to connected devices such as Spirit unit so mentioned behavior is really strange.
Connected servo will tell us where is the problem and what is working correctly.

Oh! Interesting! I had not understood what your problem was! I took for granted you wanted the throttle going through the Spirit and that THAT was the part which was not working! Sorry.

Maybe, the Problem is, that he has limited the throttle range in tx to get the 0%...100% in the Spirit diagnostic tab. And now the throttle range is to small to get the esc initialized.

I didn't need to adjust my transmitter to get the 0-100 range in the spirit. My transmitter was matched already. I even tried to lower my end points to a more negative value to allow the spirit to show -10 on the low end and still 100 on the high end but it still wouldn't work. I then tried to remove the spirit from the EXT port, then plugged the flight pack in and allow the esc to arm, once the esc armed and the motor was responding I plugged the spirit into the rx ext port and then the spirit initialized like it always does and the servos worked so i thought i would try to spool up the motor. When i tried to give positive throttle the motor would just pulse on and off as if something was loading it down and not allowing the motor to spool up. So after all that i decided to ship it back to esprit model and James said he would try it on his heli's since he used these all the time. For grins, i plugged and programmed my BDSX to my OXy and everything is working fine. Same servos, motor, esc, receiver, wiring, and flight pack. So there has to be something wrong with the spirit fbl. thanks of everyones help.W.W. wrote:Maybe, the Problem is, that he has limited the throttle range in tx to get the 0%...100% in the Spirit diagnostic tab.
