I have one free channel on my DX8 generation 1 and would like to learn how to use it to try different flight styles. What's the trick to making this work?
I set it up so aux3 was linked to flight style and saved the profile to the unit. Then faked flying on the bench and rotated the aux3 knob full positive. Then reconnected to the unit via BT and the value showed 1.
Repeated with the knob full negative and same results.
Ideas?
[SOLVED] How to setup RTT for Flight Style changes
In the same Channels screen where you assigned the Function to the Channel, you can see the commanded value. Play with the endpoints (travel adjustments) of the channel in your TX to achieve the correct values range / resolution.
Then start flying with your usual value and correct / change as needed.
Once satisfied, land, check the value in the setting, note it, unassign the channel, go back to the setting and set it.

Coco - this either "just does not work" or I"m doing something wrong.
I have Aux3 (Chan 8) set in Travel Adjuust to 150% +/-. In the DX8 Monitor screen the knob rolls the indicator through the entire travel range.
In the Spirit using android BT - on the General Channels - special functions screen I set Flight Style active with Chan 8. The 0 value immediately changes to 1.
No amount of rolling the DX8 knob (Aux3/Chan8) changes the 1 to anything.
Thoughts?

I can't try exactly that now, sorry, maybe somebody else can chime in?
Actually I have done it in the pasr, but with the USB Cable and PC software... maybe an Android problem?

Hello,
regarding the configuration, you only have to do these steps:
General -> Channels -> Function: F: Flight style
Select Channel 8
Then move with the pot and observe Channel indicator if it is really moving. If it is moving, then you also have to see that values are changing between 1 - 8 for the Flight Style.
If indicator is not moving, then this is the problem.
Probably this pot is not assigned in your transmitter.

I must be doing something wrong because this does not work for me. Aux8 is linked to my Knob on the DX8. Then I see in the Monitor the slider moving back and forth as I rotate the Knob. Nothing changes on the Windows software that indicates anything is happening. See the short video

Thank you for the video.
Now it is clear, that it can't work, because the unit do not see any signal from channel 8. If you will use any other channel (for example 7,5) then it will very likely work immediately.
Now the question is why CH8 is not responding?
Can you tell me what receiver connection do you use?

This is using a Red normal Spirit unit running 2.2 fw presently. I have twin Lemon DSMX sat's connected to the Spirit. It flies awesome and has been dead reliable for over 1-year so the basic setup seems to work.
I did some testing and added some video to the folder above. I hooked up an 8 channel RX and plugged in servos to Aux3. As you can see, the radio is sending a signal to the RX. There is a photo of the DX8 switch assignments for that test.
I then setup 3 options for Chan 5, 7 and 8 - and as you can see - 8 does not work. 5 and 7 just fine.
Let me know if there is something else you would like me to test to debug this. I have a Pro on a 550 Gaui I will test. It's also using the twin SAT approach and no physical RX per se.
All your "integrations" to other non-Spektrum systems are interesting to watch. They all need an RX setup. It's to bad Spektrum is not more "open" to this technology.

Tested my Pro unit and got same results.

Hello,
thank you very much for the details.
So the problem is that for unknown reason there is no transmission of the channel 8 over the satellite. So we have to find the reason why.
When we were testing it with DX8 and Spektrum satellites it worked well. Unfortunately we have no Lemon satellite here at the moment. It is possible that this satellite is transmitting only 7 channels.
We will re-verify it with Spektrum again and see what will happen.
Do you have original Spektrum satellite?
