Hello,
yes, there are main differences between Stabilisation Acro and Stabilisation Normal.
You can find it described here:
Stabilisation (Normal)
Stabilisation (Acro)
In which mode you were flying? In any way, all modes (upon stick release) should put the helicopter to the horizontal position.
Depending on Direciton Control Rate settings, you can move the horizontal level by sticks as well (if you are holding it in some direction for longer time).
Did you tried Coaxial mode? Maybe this is mode you are looking for. Each mode is working differently - Coaxial is good for absolute beginners.
Stabilisation (Normal) for more advanced and Acro for learning acrobatics.
Maybe you are using Banks but something is not configured properly and it is reason why you can't see a difference when changing Direction Control Rate.
You can send me your settings (attach 4DS file here) so I can check it.
Stabilisation mode.

I'm also interested to read more about this before I try.
(Currently use rescue on a spring loaded switch.)

Stabilization (Acro) seems I want to try.
Helpful with inverted circuits I'm practicing.
Can I use Rescue (Normal/Acro) in combination with Stabilization (Acro)?
Is it correct to say Stabilization (Acro) will not fight you in any way unless you let go of the cyclic stick?

Yes, you are right. It will work exactly in this way.
Yes, you can use Stabilisation and Rescue together. With Bank Switching it can be programmed in this way.

Because it's a pull down menu I now see you can't combine rescue.
Of course one can use banks, select for example Stabilization (Acro) in Bank 0 and select Rescue (Normal) in Bank 1.
Flying around in Bank 0 rescue is not available, it requires to switch to Bank 1 first and then hit the rescue switch.
Switching twice takes too much time for me, I'm sure I hit the ground in the process.
However for training purpose I'm always three mistakes high.
I'll give Stabilization (Acro) a try, just to see what is does and if I like it.

You can still set priorities in your transmitter or set the behavior so that Rescue can be active always when some switch is engaged.
If you want to use only one channel for everything, you can unassign Gyro Gain and set a static values. Then only by changing Banks you can activate Rescue/Stabilisation/normal flight.

I have a similar arrangement, but I added a couple of mixes so that, when I hit the "PANIC" momentary switch, it immediately forces Bank 1 (Rescue bank) AND Stabi to ON (or, negative gain; depending upon which method you are using.)
The mix frees me from having to throw the Bank switch, first, then hit the rescue switch.

Hi Snowflake,
I have tried:
Bank 0 - disabled
Bank 1 - Stabi Acro
Bank 2 - Rescue Acro.
It is possible to invoke Bank2 (RESCUE) ever with any bank selected: need some mix in the TX and a spring switch ( - SH - with Futaba T14SG -)
Tomas is right: with Stabi Acro the Heli return to self level centering cyclic stick, with stabi normal not! Only one LIPO to day. Others test tomorrow .
