I just got telemetry/integration setup on my Chronos with HW 130HV v4 and DX9 Tx
I noticed that the mah consumed value starts at 32.0 (so 320mah). Is this normal from the HW v4 ESC or should it be at 0?
HW v4 mah telemetry on Spektrum not starting at 0
Hello!
It should start at 0.
Do you see all other values correctly?
Please download/flash the latest official firmware and try it again.

All the other values seem to be coming through correctly except I'm also now questioning FET Temp
RPM, Voltage, Current, are all exactly as I'd expect (they match up to the values in my datalogs from when I used to run Castle 160HV). Aside from starting at 320mah the mah consumed seems pretty close as well.
But I did my first flights today and FET Temp reached 230-250F by end of flight. I'm pretty certain if this was correct the ESC would thermal shutdown or go up in flames! The outer case (with fan running) reads 110F with my IR temp gun, I know it will be less than FET Temp but the spread seems way to far apart. I'm flying 1500RPM on a 3 blade head, easy 3D, not being hard on system at all. Getting 6+ minute flight times.
I will flash the new firmware from official release and see if that helps.

Hi Thomas,
I cant find the tab to start a new post so jumped on here.
I have just setup everything for telemetry with the spm4649T and a DX9
All I can get is the signal strength on the radio, no telemetry data and no menu from the blank page using rudder to the right and aileron to the left.
Any ideas.
Thanks
Ritchie

Hi!
You have to click NEW TOPIC on the top.
Please create new thread, as this is very different issue.
All in all, it is very important to proceed according the Spektrum guide.
If there is something that is different, then this could be issue.

simplechamp: The temperature is taken directly from FET which mean it could be even 2x higher internally. Usually transistors can operate up to 150°C (302°F).
The value is sent by the ESC so unit is just transmitting it further. But since more pilots are confused, we will probably make some calibration in the future so it will match external temp.
Yes, please flash official firmware.

Thank you ZeXx86
The ESC is behaving same as before I got telemetry and has never given me problems, nor did the previous Castle 160HV. So maybe the FET really is that hot and it's OK. I'd believe the ESC would thermal shutdown if it was a problem. I also notice that right when I power on the ESC and should be showing ambient temp of 75F (heli has been sitting overnight) it actually shows 95F, so the FET sensor may be offset somewhat from the start.
I will just have to know that 230-250F is the new "normal" level, and if it starts going above that then there could be a problem. Will be interested to see what kind of temp values other guys are getting with HW v4
With regard to the mah consumed I just flashed the new firmware to Spirit and also flashed the HW v4 again (it had newest firmware but I flashed again to make sure). Still showing 320mah from the start. It's not that big of a deal, but I'm still curious as to why it does that.

So after a flight today I hooked up the HW Program Box to the ESC and reviewed the max temp values stored from the flight. For both ESC and Capacitor temps it was 105-115F.
Telemetry still said 230F. So I'm not really sure what is going on here?

Thank you for the message! We will compare with another HW v4 130A and let you know.

Guys, Just had a couple of flights on my 700x with the SPM4649T and HW 130a V4. I was looking to see if anyone was having the same issue as me regarding no logged rpm and noticed this thread. So just for your info I checked my telemetry file and I can say that on both flights the mAh did start at zero. Also the FET temperature started at 30.5 deg C and peaked at 39.1 deg C (which seems at bit cool to me?).
