Hello,
I´m not sure about the mounting location of a Spirit Pro in a TREx 550X.

Align recommends for his Microbeast FBL a mounting position on the the special receiver mount platform in the front part of the frame, where also ESC and receiver are built in, if You follow the Align manual.

I don´t like this position for my Spirit Pro, because the canopy then presses against all cables in the Spirit.
Therefore I´m searching for another mounting position.

Possible in my estimation could be the left side opening of the front part of the frame, where the receiver is located, if you follow the Align manual. But here I´m not sure, wether the Spirit is eventually too near to the ESC and has to expect electrical interference from the ESC.
Another possible mounting position for the Spirit Pro would be on the tail boom mount. Here it is necessary, to extent the throttle and power supply cables from the ESC.

Can You please give me any advice, what mounting position You would recommend for the Spirit Pro and what advantage and disadvantage the single solution has?
Probably I´m thinking too much about that, but this is my first bigger heli I build up and I want to do everything right.

Thanks in advance for every answer and a happy new year.

Hello!

We were testing with T-Rex 550 where recommended mounting position was on the tail boom holder.
There it was working well always. ESC was closer there so there was no issue with cables.
But there is enough room there. But basically unit can be mounted anywhere.

Also regarding optimal electrical properties I would choose mounting position further from the motor and ESC.

Alternatively you can change plastics of the servo connectors that can be bent closer.

Thank you for your wishes.

We wish you Happy New Year too!
