I have a problem connecting to the Spirit Pro using the bluetooth module, although it worked fine the first couple of times I used it.

Now, when I try to connect through the app, it connects to the module, but then it says that it couldn't find the spirit unit. The fbl connects fine through USB and I checked to make sure that telemetry is off.

The cables are connected properly and the module is blinking blue. When I try to connect, the blue led is solid for a short period and then starts blinking when I get the error of unit not found.

I also tried to delete the app and reinstall and also to delete cache and data. I have delete the bluetooth module and re-paired just to be sure, but the problem still persists.

Any advice?

Hello,

do you powering up the module still in the same way as when it worked?
If you connected it to an external battery, then this is the problem. Grounds must be shared with unit.

Yes, the same way, through the spirit unit. Power from channel 0 and tx through SYS.

I also tried from another Android phone and the same issue occurred.

I have to be honest and admit that I briefly reversed the connection cables, TX through channel 0 and power from sys, by mistake. Can this be the problem?

Unfortunately yes :(
This will damage the module permanently. Wifi-Link module has protection for this, but unfortunately BT will be damaged.

I haven't changed the polarity though if I'm not mistaking. Anyway, that's it for the module I guess.

Thanks for the info.

When power goes to the communication cable, then the power goes directly to the module.
Power cable can be connected in any way.
Reversing the cable is not a problem, but swapping communication and powering cables is problem.

We can fix the module, but unfortunately the cost will be approx. 80% of the new one, because we are selling it basically for manufacturing cost. The part that is very probably damaged is the most expensive (the BT module itself).

I understand.

I may have to order the wifi module instead as it has better functionality than the bluetooth module (I found this out after my initial order :) )

Thanks
