Hey,

Just installed a Spirit Pro on my Goblin 380 and I'm using a Jeti DS-24 transmitter with a REX3 receiver on ExBus.

I have some questions regarding transmitter channel calibration.

1. I've seen that actual Servo Assignment doesn't match the Channel Mapping in Spirit. This has been mentioned before so I left it default and only add the optional channels.

2. The throttle channel and pitch channel are both controlled by the left stick. From the start the Throttle channel on the Spirit was showing -101% and 99%. I changed the endpoints in the TX and everything was ok. The same problem was on the Pitch channel. But when I tried adjusting the lower endpoint I couldn't get -100%. It was either -101% or -99% (two TX clicks where both on -99%, the third jumps to -101%)
Now the dilemma: Should I leave it a -99% or -101% OR change the subtrim by +2% and the endpoints to match precisely -100%, 100%.

Thanks

Hello,

1. Yes, that is perfectly correct.
2. 1% difference is under precision of the transmitters - it is enough to push the stick little bit stronger and you can reach +2%. Also it is not in human capabilities to sense such difference. You can leave all at default. The difference is rather only in 0.5%, but it is just rounded so you can see such it as 1%.

Thanks for the reply.

I was a bit concerned because both throttle and pitch are controlled by the same stick. The throttle could be calibrated/synced but not the pitch. Weird.

One last thing, you mention in the manual that centering is done on fbl initialisation. What does that mean exactly? Should I have all channels at neutral when booting up?

Thanks.

Rudder, Aileron and Elevator should be always at the center when powering up the unit - these are used for channel center calibration. From them center is calculated for other channels too.
This is reason why no trims and subtrims for these channels should be used - it will not work correctly.

Of course, Rud, ail and ele are on spring loaded sticks but collective can be in any position when powering up without any problems, right?

Just curious how to use REX3 in Goblin380, I think we need at least 6 channels to operate Goblin380.

Correct, but when using a FBL you usually connect to it through Exbus or UDI. In that case you are not limited by the physical ports on the receiver (3 in case of REX3), but by the protocol. Exbus is 24 channels and UDI is 12 or 16 IIRC.

I think the REX3 RX was created specifically for the heli. Small without the unneeded physical ports.

Got it! thx for the explanation, it's sad the REX3 is not available in US

demon450: It can work with no problem since all channels are going through the single cable. So it would be enough even if receiver has just 1 port generally.
