I'm having an issue with the throttle and this also affects the Spirit gov that I cannot figure out. I'm sure I'm overlooking something but have not been able to sort it.
If I set the Castle Talon 25 to Helicopter no gov or External Gov, fixed endpoints The Jeti throttle at 50% is 100% motor speed. It's almost as if the throttle signal is being doubled. So the Spirit gov won't work because it never goes above 50%
I do get 0-100 in the diags tab for throttle.
If I set the Castle to Helicopter with gov enabled and set RPM, then Straight curves of 30%, 70% and 100% work as expected and give the rpm I set.
I think I have it configured and cabled correctly. I have Jeti integration and telemetry. I can adjust Spirit settings in the radio and I see Voltage, RPM, vibs, and temp via telemetry.

Hello,
can you try to set Linear throttle curve and to turn off the Spirit governor? (Castle governor off too)
If it will respond correctly, then all is very likely OK. Please note that Spirit Governor will engage only at upper half throttle. While with lower values of TC it will be working as with throttle curves.
If I am not wrong Castle 25A has no RPM lead. So it mean you need external RPM sensor. Did you connected any?

Will try just using a straight curve to see if throttle will respond to full range. No, I do not have a separate wire to P, just the livelink connection.
In that case the Spirit Governor unfortunately can't work.

Thanks for the help. It was the throttle going full at 50% that was driving me crazy. Since this is the first model I've set up in the Jeti I kept thinking it was something in the radio programming I was doing wrong.
But it was as simple as ESC expecting an ext gov and Spirit not being able to.

Not quite - the Spirit Gov needs to be told what the speed the motor is running at to enable it to govern it, this can either come from the ESC (some ESCs have a wire that supplies the rpm's) or via a separate Phase Sensor (HobbyWing and Hyperion are the most common). By having this info the FBL unit can then govern the speed.drparker151 wrote:But it was as simple as ESC expecting an ext gov and Spirit not being able to.
