Is is possible to get esc or any king of telemetry from the spirit unit to a DX8 Gen 1. I beleive I read were a DX8 Gen 1 is not supported for integration, so that means you can not program or make changes to the spirit unit from the radio. Was not sure about getting telemetry from the spirit unit to be displayed on the radio.
Thanks
DX8 Gen 1 and Telemetry
Hello,
unfortunately no, it is not possible. But with any newer radio it works including integration.

I use a Gen1 DX8 too and simply added the Wi-Fi unit to my Spirit to enable easy tuning at the field via my Phone.
It gives you access to all the Spirit settings (not telemetry) and is not dependent on any apps or alike. All you need is a WiFi capable device that has a web browser and the interface loads directly from the Spirit unit.
You most likely already have a Phone in your pocket capable of doing everything you need so no need to upgrade your TX for integration alone. This is an inexpensive and very useful item to include if your hoping to change settings at the field without the need of your computer.

Yes, the WiFi will let you see and adjust Spirit settings. If you were looking for ESC telemetry to see RPM, voltage, current, temp and mah. You will need to upgrade the radio. Keep your eye on the classifieds. I just upgraded to a Jeti and sold my Dx9 for a reasonable price.
