Hi,
i have here a Mikado Logo 600 equipped with a Castle Creations Phoenix Edge 120 HV, Hobbyking 4962-500kv Outrunner, Hobbyking YEP 20A HV SBEC and (of course) a Spirit Pro with latest firmware.
When i startup throttle the Motor starts to spin, but then stops and the Spirit loses the connection and is booting up.
I have set the Castle settings as mentioned in the manual, BEC seems to be ok it holds the tension, motor timing is on 20, which is according to google search ok. I have seen that there are some (old) advices how to set the Castle ESC correctly, is that really necessary? I uploaded a video for better understanding: https://www.amazon.de/clouddrive/share/ ... rU2L41VK8v and the Spirit Config is attached! Castle is on external Governor mode with Fixed Endpoints, Link Live Enabled, Jeti bin File on DS-16, and servo wire with resistor, the remaing default.
Hope someone can give me an advise!
Thanks,
Tino

My guess is the BEC. Cheap becs are not a good choice for an expensive machine..
Have you tried to just run the bec test on the Spirit ? And check the logs of the Spirit.
Do you have two wires from the BEC connected ? And if you have have you tried adding a cap to the unit if the servos are producing back emf.

Hello,
I recommend to perform BEC tester in the Spirit Settings and check how it works.
It should pass the test until the end.

Try turning the live link off and see if it works. I had a similar problem with a HV castle esc, after spooling up with no blades, letting it run for a few seconds it would over amp and cut off. I switched the live link off and i have not had an issue since, i just haven't gotten round to finding the issue.
Not saying this is your issue but its something else to try.

Hello,
I noticed at the video that the Status LED of the unit is turning off when the problem occur.
Is the unit rebooting actually? If the unit starts to pulsate as during initialization then yes. This is big issue.
This problem is the most likely caused by electrostatic discharges. Some cable is probably very close to the boom or directly connected with the ground/boom.
This could then send very high voltage to the unit.
To reduce possibilities I recommend to disconnect everything possible (all servos) before trying it again.

Hi,
first of all, thanks to everyone for your help and suggestions, unfortunately the problem still exists and scares me that this could happens during flight.
@ ZeXx86: yes the spirit unit reboots, will be disconnected from PC software, and reinitializes everytime this happened. I have tried already without servos, same problem.
@ Campbell: disabled live link, unplugged wires, no improvements
Castle Creations support had a look at the log files, and thinks that the ESC is ok.
Also went back to spirit firmware 2.4.3, because a friend of mine has the same components installed, without any issues (same FBL, ESC,..)
Very grateful for further suggestions,
Tino

Supplement: which I have not tested yet is the anti static kit from Logo, will get the kit this week...
