Hello,

we have received message that it is important to update Receiver firmware. Can you verify that you are using the latest version, please?

Hi Tomas, I received a message too from the FrSky rep on RcGroups asking if I had the latest firmware on the receiver. I will flash the receiver firmware today with the latest firmware and let you know the results.

Hello Tomáš,

I am using the latest available firmware 180601 (Update time 2018-6-21) on my RX8R pro.

Update: I updated the RX8R Pro to the latest EU LBT firmware. It is working but you have to run the lua script first before powering the receiver, exit the lua whereby the LED on the Spirit wilk still continue flashing, run the lua again then exit it and the LED on the Spirit unit will then remain solid. So it works as long as you start the lua first, exit it then run it a second time then exit it.

Discovery, if you run the lua script briefly first then exit it before powering the receiver it works alright. So I think this can be fixed by having the lua script to auto start when the Tx is powered on then auto exit itself and it should work. Tomas any thoughts? I will upload a video to assist. At least I can now leave the integration cable connected, briefly start the lua then exit it before powering the heli whilst waiting for a fix on this issue.

Regards,

Denis

I can confirm that the behaviour is consistant with what others are seeing, i.e. powering up first, then running the LUA does not work, whereas running the LUA then powering up the receiver does work. Non redundancy receivers working properly.
Chris
I can confirm that as I said in this post, (last night) I made sure I was running the latest receiver firmware before trying again.

Here is the video. Rx8r pro with latest EU LBT firmware 2018-06-21 version 180601. The Taranis Qx7s is running the latest OpenTx version 2.2.3.

Integration is improved but not perfect as you still have to run the lua script first thing before powering up the receiver. The difference this time is that the Spirit unit LED light stays on solid i.e. stops blinking after you exit the lua though sometimes you have to run the lua and exit it a second time for the LED to stop blinking.

Still the original problem remains that if you power on the receiver without at least running the lua script first once on the Tx, the LED light on the Spirit unit goes off after initialization and stays off and integration doesn't work.

It is ok as long as you perform the ritual of first running the lua script on the Tx then exiting it. If you don't do this the LED on the Spirit goes off and integration doesn't work.

The FrSky guys told Tomas that it worked for them, so I don't know what they did to make it work, different Tx firmware maybe?
Or maybe to them the way it works now means it is working properly? I don't know.

I've just watched Denis's video and it is exactly the same as I am getting, except with an X10.

FrSky staff tested our unit with their receivers and it is working just very well in any case.
Please take a look:

They have sent us few more videos with various testing procedures and it always worked properly.
