Will Spektrum telemetry with Hobbywing V4 ESC's become possible using a receiver other than the SPM4649T ? If so when? I'd like to use the AR9030T or the AR7350 and be able to read pack volts and RPM from the ESC on the Spektrum transmitter.

-OK, I think I have a solution. I can use the SPM4649T receiver IF I can use the AUX2 port on the Spirit Pro to operate the landing gear retract servo on a Gaui R5 helicopter. I read this about firmware V2.5.0.
"Output to AUX2:
Spirit Pro users can assign special function F: Output to AUX2 to directly control the port with a free channel."
-So does that mean I can simply move one retract servo from extended position to retracted position using AUX 2 port output from the Spirit Pro?

Hello,
unfortunately usage of these receivers will be impossible for this purpose as far as we know.
Yes, you can use output from AUX2 or even CH0 ports and control anything you like.

Thanks for the response Tomas. That is good news since I can use the SPM4649T and get my telemetry and still be able to control my gear servo. Great!
Why doesn't Horizon Hobby make all the other telemetry receivers they sell now integrate with Spirit and other FBL controllers? That doesn't make any sense to me.

Hello George,
Very simple answer: Hobby Horizon wants to sell their own FBL Controllers
The best alternative I found for a good telemetry and a regular Spektrum RX is this:
- AR8010 connected with SRXL to the Spirit
- A YGE 35 or 65A esc with a TexY Adapter on the X-Bus delivers rpm, amps, used cap, and voltage
- A backup voltage through the RX + temp. is also possible.
This setup woks fine on my newest helicopter project.
A Unisens-E Sensor would give the altitude in addition for app. the same amount of money, but it is harder to install.
