I've been having a problem just like everybody else did that I can't update my geolink unit. The unit just arrived this morning. And I accidentally update it with 1.0.2 eventhough it's already got the same version (damn it). When it was updating, the spirit software froze, so I had to restart it. And the geolink isn't functioning at all.
I managed to upload 1.0.2 to geolink with recovery mode with a really quick connect and disconnect method (I have regular heli red spirit by the way), but when it reaches 100% the status says failed and the failed pop up window message comes up and the spirit software froze. I'm sad now, coz I was looking forward to fly my heli tomorrow with this geolink unit.
What should I do? I'm in new zealand by the way, bought the unit from local distributor

I had the same problem. If you have access to a Spirit Pro connect the Geo Link to it and Flash 1.0.2 Firmware.

I managed to fix it. I had to downgrade the spirit firmware to 2.5.2 and reflash the geolink. But it's very tricky. Coz I had to plug and unplugged the cable very very very very quickly on recovery mode. And it didn't always work every time. 1 out of 5 attempts

Hi,

yes, connecting must be relatively quick. It is the best to just re-connect the cable from the GeoLink.
Then it should be basically always successfull.

Hi Tomas,

it's looking like you may have to tweak the Standard Spirit unit to accept the firmware reset as I also had to use a Pro to unbrick a Geolink.
You just can't unplug and reinsert a small jst quickly enough!! Still a great product.
