Geolink losing it's Firmware during Calibration

I've now had two Geolinks lose their firmware during a calibration.
Both times I've had to re-power the heli after it took ages during the calibration with no flashes. This seems to knacker it.
The Recovery method fails every time at the end. Does downgrading the spirit firmware really do the trick?? I tried on one Heli and now I have communication problems. Is there a 'special firmware' like in the old days of the Spirit for getting the Geolinks back?

Nope. Downgrading doesn't work. Hopefully the new firmware release today or tomorrow will un-brick the Geolinks.

Ok, as well as the Geolinks not working until they are calibrated, they also behave as if they are bricked. It took ten minutes of moving the unit before it eventually took a calibration and reconnected to the PC. Phew.....Well, one of the two has.

Look here: 2.3 Calibration process
specially this:
Calibration will not finish until it is fully done. If power is turned off while calibration is not finished, the calibration process will start from the beginning on next power up.

Like I said, one has now eventually finished it's calibration and works. The other just won't finish however long I keep at it!!

The software only shows Update tab in this state which is a trap for the unwary (me). I think the unit is in limbo without a properly finished firmware update

try rotating and moving the geolink near a window
eventually will finish the calibration

of course if you updated the geolink to last version, you have to update also the firmware of spirit
to keep the communication protocol coherent

Been doing it inside, outside, under the bed...........the second one just seems determined to get me. How long can I twiddle a small red plastic box for before I lose my sanity? :?

anyway, you know that is still calibrating when while moving geolink it show the led blinking very fast sometimes
sign that is getting info that are missing from calibration

basically he need to rotate in a 360° sphere ... the calibration don't finish until the sphere is full covered

yes exactlly ... is blink every time he gets new data
thats why you should rotate it in every direction

360° x 360° x 360°

here you have a hint how you have to calibrate
