Hi all, how many cm do I need to install the GPS from the magnetic canopy mount? From the photo if I want to remain the GPS in the center of the tail boom I find myself at 20 cm from the magnets. The distance from the tail servo of the 5 cm is respected.

Can i still move the gps backwards 5-7 cm? or will there be balance problems?
Thanks

Hi Pino74,

You could compensate for COG by moving your battery forward a little or by adding some small stick-on wheel weights (small self adhesive 1/4 oz. square) on the front portion of the side frames or in the nose of the canopy (space allowing). I have also seen small amounts of hardware like nuts & bolts hot glued in the nose of the canopy. Obviously you don't want to add to much extra weight to your heli, so I would move the GPS module to the minimum required distance from the magnetic mounts and add required counter weight as mentioned above until proper COG is achieved. Hope this info is of help to you and enjoy some great flying.

Best regards,
Kevin

Hi Pino,

Your quite welcome and I see you need roughly 1" or 25 mm of more clearance to reach your goal, and just out of curiosity is that the Oxy 3 your making these adjustments on?

It might be enough to make it work properly.

You can do a simple test. Start the Spirit Settings / GeoLink window and observe Compass Heading Angle.
Then put canopy on and compare angle. Is there any difference?

I was curious if the heli you are making the GeoLink distance adjustments on was a Oxy 3 heli? Or which heli is it you are doing this on?
