im gonna start building a trex 600 ( on 12S )
for a friend that will be using castle 120hv esc, futaba R7008SB and T16SZ plus spirit2

just for confirmation, i have to buy the FrSky integration cable and Telem CC cable, right ?
anything else needed ?

Thanks to all

I've asked a similar question yesterday but no response.

If you want telemetry back to your 16SZ from Spirit (and also the CC ESC via the spirit) then yes, you need the FrSky Integration cable. If you do not want telem, then the standard SBUS adaptor will suffice.

My understanding is that the Spirit acts as the 'hub' for all telemetry except for the basic Rx voltage that the Rx itself does by default. All telem from the ESC pipes to the FBL via the relevant protocol and then back to the Tx via the Rx.

Here are links for Futaba integration and CC ESC:

No problem, hope it helps.

For interest, I'm about to setup a similar configuration, but I have 18sz, R7003Sb, and a Powerjive 120+ HV ESC. I've got the FrSky integration cable and uni telem cable arriving hopefully this week, so I'll let you know how I get on if you haven't already got your friend's setup finished.

today first test
R7008SB sbus2 port connected to spirit2 as per manual
( plus additional red wire connected from spirit2 to rx to give power )

castle esc with "link live" enabled connected to aux1 with Telem CC cable between

enabled castle phoenix telemetry in spirit2 in Advanced/Telemetry

configured T16 telemetry as per manual ( KONTRONIK in 8th slot )

result:
- esc never arm ... tried a lot with different throttle values in spirit governor screen

- after connecting a second bec cable to the RX, the esc started to arm ( but not always )
but throttle seem to suffer a strange disturb that made the throttle signal go up and down

- removed Telem CC cable, disabled link live in esc, disabled castle telemetry in spirit
then the esc arm correctly all the times and no strange behaviour

any hints ? :?

Hello,

the problem could be just in the Throttle Range or Frequency.
First from all you can make the ESC to work. For this you do not need FrSky integration cable. Just Telem Castle cable and Link Live enabled in the ESC.
Make sure your throttle frequency is at 60Hz in the Spirit Settings and Castle Telemetry is enabled in the Spirit Settings.

After this it must simply work and ESC to engage always.
If not, please try to decrease Throttle Range - Min until it will arm. It should arm near 1060us, but can be near 1000-1040us.

hello Thomas
I use FrSky integration cable for connecting futaba rx sbus2 to spirit

btw, without telem cc cable, with Link Live disabled and Castle Telemetry disabled in spirit settings
the esc is working fine.

I will try again with telemetry in a few days when return from vacation

thanks
