should the firmware update for the Jeti DS-12 be loaded into DS-12 Spirit Edition too or will there be a separate update?

Hello,

yes, you can load it with Jeti Studio normally.
Now enhanced features for Spirti units are available for all JETI radios.

Hi Tomas,

I just installed Jeti Update 5.04 to my DS-12 Tx and I don't see the Spirit advanced features in the Heli Tuning menu.

From Jeti's release notes:
New wizard for helicopters equipped with the Spirit FBL stabilization unit. In the Main Menu – Heli Tuning it is possible to enter directly the configuration menu of the FBL unit.

Do I have to install any other updates to get this, please?

Errm, not quite!! Only for DS-12 and DC-16ii. My 'new' DS-24 is obviously too old for the update. Snotagram going off to Jeti if I cared more

i've successfully done the update on our 2nd DS-12 (the non-Spirit-Edition) too... after the update it's now with same integration level as the other one => if you create a new model => Heli => Pic & Color => next page: you can select Heli "Standard" or "Spirit"... "Spirit" will do some basic settings for you and a model created with "Spirit" selection has "Spirit" as 1st menu option in Heli Assistant menu now. (should be available as option in Basic settings too... so you can activate for existing helis)

Thanks, Michael, that answered my question! I was wondering how to unlock the extra Spirit functionality for existing models. Do you know if making the change to 'Spirit' in basic settings / heli makes any other changes to settings or will all original settings be retained? I don't want any surprises when I fly next time!

Hi Andy,

unfortunately no... all my models (even the ones with NEO) have been created with Spirit option from the very first beginning to have all channel mappings etc identical for all helis. so it is visible in all my models and i cannot test.

but if you create a copy of an existing model, bind the Rx to it and test it.... this should give you the answer. or Tomas can answer for sure if settings are changed only during setup wizzard or with later change to "Spirit" too..... ?

Hello,

only channel mapping is changed (if it is not a standard). So it should be perfectly save to switch the option.

The update should be available for all JETI radios, likely there is only a delay for DS-14/24.
