Hi there,
I used to do all my setup on my Mac but lately have been unable to get it to work at all. I've just downloaded the v6 driver software that was released before Christmas and the Spirit software is v3.2.1 and I updated the heli (with a Windows machine) to 3.2.1 earlier.
I've the Tx (Jeti) on obviously, heli plugged into the flight pack, and the lead running from the Sys port on the Spirit 2 to the USB on the Mac (tried both). I've the red light on the FBL unit and the red and blue on the lead.
Any ideas?
The Mac is running the latest OS, Big Sur.
Thanks
Stevie
Using the Spirit Program with Mac
Hi,
2 things you could check:
1. in Finder >> Applications (Programme) you should be able to find "CP210xCVPDriver" (plus, if you did not change it, Silicon icon should be visible in the dock too)
2. in USB hardware report ( {Apple} >> About this Mac >> System report >> hardware >> USB) you should see the CP2102 driver loaded when Spirit interface is connected (interface only connected to USB is enough, no need to connect with Spirit unit to check this). first connect the interface and start the report a little later.
... if (1) is not OK => reinstall freshly downloaded v6 driver. if (1) is OK and (2) not, try to reboot your Mac with Spirit interface connected to USB and check (2) again. unless you do not see the interface in hardware report, it is either not recognised macOS or the correct new driver is not (successfully) loaded.

Thanks for the reply.
When I check the list of applications I have the Silicon icon. When I pull up a System Report it shows CP2102 USB to UART Bridge Controller. When I connect to the fbl unit it still displays that the adapter isn't connected. Very strange. Thanks

You have to allow the driver to work in the OSX in the Preferences. Normally this is happening during driver instalation, but if you will not grant the permissions then you have to click Allow there. I think it is Security icon.

Hi,
Im having the same issue - Mac won't connect to the Spirit 2 (which is powered with a steady blue light). When I click connect in the software nothing happens.
The USB driver seems to install ok, and says installed successfully.
From the post below though I don't have in Finder >> Applications (Programme) CP210xCVPDrive. This isn't visible.
I also don't have anything in the dock?
Thank you

Hello - this is only valid for OS X Big Sur... not Catalina or anything older!rhmaddever wrote: From the post below though I don't have in Finder >> Applications (Programme) CP210xCVPDrive. This isn't visible.

Thanks - I now have V6 the up to date driver the silicone labs logo but still nothing happens when I click connect in the software?
Hello,
please start the software in Recovery mode and verify you can see Device in the Connection tab.
This is absolutely necessary. If no, then the issue is still in the driver. In the worst case I can connect remotely and install the driver for you.
Do you know what OSX version do you have?
