Hi all,
Sorry if this has been asked before but i tried searching everywhere!....
Is there a way to bench test the stabilisation & rescue modes before flying?
I have set up my dx8 to have the stabi (acro) and rescue (acro) on switch D.
First bank i've set to disabled, bank 1 to stabi (acro) and bank 3 to rescue (acro)
For this to work i've had to set my 8th channel to stabi function. When i try to configure it any other way it doesn't work.
Sorry, getting off topic!....
When i try rescue on the bench inverted it still pulls positive pitch. Is this normal or will it not work on the bench?
testing stabilisation & rescue on bench?
Hello,
please check this page:

There you can find bench testing procedure.
According your description it does not work correctly now.

Yes i do not think it's working properly. I've been through that process many times and the only thing that doesn't work is that when inverted, it gives positive pitch when rescue is activated. Obviously this is not ideal! I just wondered if this is normal for bench testing?ZeXx86 wrote:Hello,

No, it is not normal.
It look like rescue is not engaged at all. Instead only something is changing pitch (mix in radio?)
Please verify that when engaging rescue you will see Rescue Active at Diagnostic tab of the Spirit Settings.

Yes, when i switch the bank to 3 it goes from bank 2 ,stabalised (acro) to bank 3, rescue (acro) enabled in diagnostic tab. When the model is upright it gives lots of positive pitch like normal but when i turn it inverted it still gives positive pitch. Not a lot, but enough to get into trouble. i do not have any mixes in the radio at all. I'm on a dx8e. I have the banks on my gear switch (D), all work except inverted rescue. Could it hve something to do with the Limits pitch range or cyclic ring adjustments?
Thanks,
Pete

It could be caused by improper centering of the swashplate.
So actually 0% stick input does not correspond to 0° collective pitch.
Can you please tick Servos/Subtrim (tuning) and check that all servo arms are in the middle, swashplate is perfectly level and there is 0° between main blades at the same time?

Absolutely spot on Tomas! thank you so much! i was starting to go crazy. It was 1 spline out on the aileron servo to make it adjust enough to give 0 degree pitch from sub trim. Put a blade on one side down the length of the heli to make sure. Am now getting good throws on both inverted and upright when rescue is activatedZeXx86 wrote:It could be caused by improper centering of the swashplate.
