Hi there.

I was flying my trex 550x today and I encountered the following:

Fast forward flight I turned the helicopter right so that the travel continued to the left with the side of the helicopter in the direction of travel. This caused an aggressive wag. I don’t have any issues with fast forward flight or during hovering.

Would this be tail gain? Or pirouette consistency?

Thanks
Sam

Hi,

please try to decrease pirouette consistency by 10.
Value around 170 should be good.

Hello,

was it so that the tail could not hold the sideway position of the heli? Then you could use larger tail blades.
Is it the same when you turn the heli to the left?

Hi there,

My piro consistency is 160 at the moment. Shall I still reduce?

It held the tail there was just aggressive wag. If I do the same travelling left to right and turn the tail left to travel sideways to the right it’s fine. It only does this when running fast sideways to the left. I wonder if it’s a tail pitch issue?

UPDATE -

I reduced the tail gain and it has eliminated this wag, I've upped the piro consistency to 170 and seems great. Only issue now is I have a slight tail kick with pitch pumps... what do I need to adjust now? revo?

Hello,

this tuning guide can help you:
http://manual.spirit-system.com/index.p ... ning_Guide

If Rudder Delay, Piroette Consistency and Gyro Gain are not enough, then adjusting Governor can help.
If not, then the last solution is to use Revomix. This should help to resolve problem, if mechanics is good.

Thank you. Piro consistency was upped and this
Problem is fixed. I now have two other issues I would like some guidance with if possible.

1) when I pitch pump in a hover I get an elevator kick to
The rear?

2) when rescue is activated there is drift to rear also once in hover mode.

Hello,

please check that the swashplate is perfectly horizontal when Servos/Subtrim (tuning) menu is enabled.
Preferably with Swashplate leveler.

If center of gravity is too off, the problem can happen too.

Or if elevator servo is not moving well or it has different travel than the rest in min/max positions.

Both problems might be result of imperfect Subtrim settings.

You can use this guide to set the mechanics perfectly:
