Hi
I have a 550X with the Align branded 120a esc and can't get any esc telemetry
It is connected the same as some other heli's which have original Hobbywing esc's which all work ok
Integration (Graupner HOTT) works fine and shows General module connected . Telemetry is activated on the spirit 2
I have a genuine Spirit uni cable and have double checked all connections
Is there any reason why the Align esc does not work , it shows on the programming box as Platinum V4
Thanks
Andy
Align/Hobbywing telemetry not working
Hi,
I have very similar problem and hope Mr.Tomas can suggest a solution.
My setup is Trex 500XT with Align RCE-BL80A ESC, Futaba 16SZ radio with R7008SB RX, FASSTest 18CH selected and Spirit Pro FC.
Throttle signal is with pull up 10kOh resistor, ESC RPM signal wire connected to Spirit Pro. RX connected to Spirit Pro vis S-Bus2.
I could only see RPM data via telemetry. After reading previous inputs of this post I had upgrade the ESC with available software update AL-04.0.05-Vbar. That was the highest available for RCE-BL80A. After that I selected the HOBBYWING Platinum V4 telemetry from Siprit SW which I thought was the closest to the Align. I got additional few data such as ESC PWM, ESC TEMP (shows 100C) and ESC A (sometimes shows 1.0Amp). My feeling is that the shown data is not a accurate accept the RPM.
Is it possible to have telemetry feature with the Align RCE-BL80A ESC and Spirit Pro combination? If yes, please guide me with the setup.
Thank you,
Amal

have you tested on flight ?
on manual there is this warning:
> HobbyWing ESC can transmit Current and Consumed Capacity only when there is a load.
> Without main blades it will show zero value..
from here:

PS. I think the vbar firmware is only to be used with mikado vbar
you should use the previous available

Hi,
No, I didn't try to fly it yet. I am still in the assembly stage. My ESC is not HobbyWing. It's Align RCE-BL80A, the original ESC came with the 500XT.
The software update came from Align website. http://www.align.com.tw/download-en/asbox/. There is no other software available other than AL-04.0.05-Vbar for this ESC. Any thoughts?

Amal

You will need to flash firmware that is not for VBar. Unfortunately HobbyWing made the firmware only to make telemetry working with VBar. But this update removed support for their telemetry. So it is really necessary to flash older firmware.
Same apply for Align ESCs that are rebranded HobbyWing ESCs.
