Futaba S-bus connection problem

I have set up two spirit FBL systems with Futaba regular receivers with no problems. I am now using an S bus receiver (Futaba R7003SB Receiver). Per the Spirit Manual, I connected the S bus receiver from the S bus, Port 1 to my new Spirit GT FBL in the rudder port. The Spirit GT does not power up. The Futaba manual says not to use the S bus2 port for non Sbus2 gyros.
My power is coming from the ESC BEC to the S bus receiver in the 3/B battery port and will later, add another power cable from the receiver port 2 to the Spirit Aux. port. Don’t know what I’m missing. I would appreciate your help on this.

Never mind. I had the connector reversed in the S bus receiver. Polarity is different from one side to the other. I will continue my set up. Thanks.
