Quick question -
I have Spirit unit powered by BEC.
Can I connect Spirit Wifi-Link to it, but have the Wi-Fi Link powered from external 2S lipo?

Yes, but only if ground wire is shared between battery and BEC.
This mean you might need Y cable for powering lead where side that goes to the Spirit unit should be without red wire.

Isn’t there an gnd connection in the wire between the spirit and the wifi module?

Yes, it is if you connect powering wire from the Wifi-Link to the Spirit unit.

I wonder if we could take the ground from the black lead of the battery, which is easy to access over balancing port. I think it's probably equal to BEC ground, but I better test this before.

I think I'm talking rubbish :)
It seems it's just a matter of providing 2s Lipo ground to Spirit SYS port and things should work.

Yes, Ground can be connected anywhere with the BEC.

One point should be minded - not all ESC's like additional powersupply as Buffer-Packs or batteries -

Yes, but we only want to connect ground. Powerline of 2s will not be shared with BEC.
