The documentation shows that disabling Active Freewheeling is recommended (required?) for v4 Hobbywing ESCs to use Spirit's governor.

Is this still the case for v5s, too? I currently have AF active, and I'm using Spirit's governor with no issues.

Maybe a good question more generally too... should active freewheeling always be disabled?

Hello,

this depends on ESC manufacturer and particular model, so it is not related to Spirit Governor at all.
You have to ask ESC manufacturer what is the best settings for external governor.

I received an official response from Hobbywing today.

Here was my initial inquiry:
Is it necessary to disable "Active Freewheeling" in my Platinum Pro's v5 260A setting when using my FBL's governor?
Here is their reply:
The Heli Team reports they run with the setting disabled.
