I have a Roban Cobra Heli. 800 Size. I have flown this heli with other flybarless controllers. I have not had any major issues with the non-spirit controllers. I have installed and flown a Spirit GT in an Align 550 with no issues.
I have tried to hover the Roban with the Spirit GT and the first time it was incredibly unstable.
The second attempt making changes I was able to bring it into a hover but the tail was ineffective swinging back and forth at least a foot. I wouldn't even call it hunting. The tail torque tube set up is very sloppy. The cyclic was extremely soft feeling. Forward flight was too much of a risk.... I pulled out the spirit and put back in the other brand controller with no issues.
Roban mechanics are somewhat like Century heli machines back in the 90's. Incredibly sloppy.
Secondly and more significantly the head speed for this helicopter is approximately 1250 rpm.
I confirmed that this is correct. 800mm flat bottomed airfoil works OK,. I wondered if the issue might be related to such a low head speed. Any thoughts or success with a Roban this size would be helpful. This is the 2 blade version.

Thanks in advance...

I have the same kind of issue, what fuselage is it out of interest?

I have attached the Spirit settings for the Cobra... I have the mechanics out of the fuselage and mounted the mechanics on excel style skids.
I have done this before. Ready to fly the Cobra weighs 25 lbs... at $2000 it makes sense to sort out issues without the fuse.

thanks again for any help...
