I did also power the unit solely from a back-up power pack and observed the exact same behaviour, so probably has nothing to do with the ESC.
Also, all servos working in a coordinated manor!
Any ideas, please?

Hello,

so the behavior is not erratic, but rather is showing something, correct?

Can't it be just protection for flying with Rescue engaged? Have you verified that your Rescue switch is not engaged all the time?
Otherwise it will make fast pitch pumps after initialization.

Just got back from work.
I will check in the morning.
Thank you!

I tried to switch off recovery, but then started to try to hover. I had not seen the collective punches with the servos for a while!
The heli spooled-up and then climbed rapidly and suddenly, uncommanded, then after reacting, I brought the heli back down.
Unfortunately, at this rate I did not react quickly enough and crashed.
I am now rebuilding a heli that I have flown for more than 17 years, with only very, very, minimal input.
Regards,
Andy
