I have a W1 that is being installed on a new heli. The connections are the same as a Spirit GT, with two Archer RS Plus receivers. The receivers are connected to the W1 using FBus in the T1 port of the controller. The ESC is a Scorpion Tribunus 3.

I see the ESC telemetry on the setup page when connected to a pc, and the ESC functions properly with the governor set up in the W1, so data is getting to the W1.

I do not have telemetry data from the W1 to the transmitter. Same in the Lua script, no apparent connection.

I am assuming the W1 functions, and the wiring connections, are the same as the GT regarding telemetry and Fbus.

I never really clarified my question...

Does the Spirit W1 have the same Integration and Telemetry functions via Fbus to Frsky as the Spirit GT?

The unit works correctly and would fly in the heli, I just don't know if I should continue attempts to get the remaining functions operable.

Hello,

you are correct. It should work in the same way as GT. Only FBUS has to be selected as receiver type.
If it does not work, was the internal Wave receiver ever bound? If so, it has to be unbound first.

Thank you for the response.

I have not bound the W1, I do not yet have a Wave.

To make sure it is not bound, I assume I would power it with the bind plug, and then simply power it down?

The receiver type is currently set to Frsky in the configuration.

Still not working.

I re-flashed the two receivers with 3.0.2. To confirm, I also re-flashed two receivers in another heli that is the same, except for the Spirit GT, and a HobbyWing V5, instead of the Scorpion Tribunus 3 and the W1.

The Scorpion ESC telemetry data points appear on the ESC menu of the advanced tab. There is one anomaly- the ESC temp changes between a very high value, and a low value at about 1hZ. the values are 32C and 159C.

None of the ESC values appear to be sent on the Fbus port.

Hello,

please try to set Spirit RX as Receiver type first.

Then use a Bind plug and insert it at the SYS port and repower the unit.
After 30 seconds status LED should flash very rapidly. From then binding with W1 receiver is cleaned and you can retry with FBUS. Internal W1 receiver will be turned off in that case.

Are you actually able to control your model with radio? Or is there completely no connection?

I appreciate the assistance. I had missed the 30 second clear in the manual. Unfortunately, that did not resolve it.

On the bright side, a Wave should be here Wednesday! i was going to hold off until fall, but....

I do wish that i could get the telemetry resolved, but certainly no rush. Firstly, its a hobby for me. Secondly, it should be a non-issue on Thursday.
