FBL market for large and heavy helicopters is still dominated by Bavarian Damon and VBar. Google search for „Scale FBL“ leads to forum contributions which in many times recommend the mentioned two for large scale helicopters.
The reasons for not using Spirit might not be technical. BD and VBar are supported by a large pilot community and the vendors themselves.

To get Spirit more into this field, for my opionion it lacks of:

Setup recommendation and documentation
- Predefined Setup for large and heavy helicopters
- Description of the relevant parameters for specific optimization (size and weight)

Confirmation of interoperability with turbines
- Official statement, that the unit is „turbine tested“ and will not be affected by high sound frequencies (80kHz – 110 kHz)

Receiver diversity
- Already confirmed to be realized within several months: https://www.spirit-system.com/phpBB3/vi ... =20&t=6437

Telemetry for ECUs
- Turbine vendors or third vendors can support telemetry i.e. vSpeak (https://www.vspeak-modell.de/de/ecu-konverter).
- The key might be: „Open telemetry protocol“ : https://www.spirit-system.com/phpBB3/vi ... =20&t=6393
- Also DIY solutions are possible (I connected my Orbit ECU für Jeti this way).

Hello,

thank you for your message. Spirit is used with Turbines for over 15 years. So there is no reason to not use it. All our Spirit units, starting from Spirit 1 had suitable sensors that can work safely there.

Regarding telemetry we added support for Xicoy Telemetry modules and will be available within following days.
Additionally we tested Governor with Turbines and with upcoming Spirit V4 it will work very well.

Hi Tomas,

thanks for your quick and promising answer.

I received my wave radio today and am looking forward to the Xicoy interface which I can hopefully use for my purposes.

Best regards Bernd
