Cant connect to Spirit FBL, running out of options

I tried to connect my original spirit FBL into my phone via OTG. I realised the app only supports wireless it seems.

I then plugged into my computer running linux with no luck detecting FBL.

I then used my windows laptop but the spirit software crashes after the big "S" splash screen. I managed to get the software running when I unplug the connector from the SYS port, it only crashes when connected to FBL. I used this very same laptop and cable to setup my heli about 2 months ago

I then opened up the software, and connected into SYS port but it failed to detect the FBL

I don't know what to try next

Is the USB meant to light up a faint blue LED when plugged into spirit SYS port only (not into usb port)?

I have the FBL powered up and connected to TX like normal with the BEC in my Hobbywing ESC.

Hello,

it will not work with OTG, so you have to use any other available way.

From your description it is not clear what Spirit it is. But if it is Spirit 1 or Spirit Pro or microSpirit there is high chance someone connected power supply at the SYS port.
This can then damage this port and make connection impossible. Also it would explain unexpected behavior.

Next - in the PC software you have to see USB interface first, even without connected Spirit unit.
Normally it should work out of the box or just after installing driver supplied with the software.

If you can't see the interface in the PC software, there is no need to check with Spirit unit connected. First this must work properly. More details would be helpful there.

Original red spirit fbl.

I can confirm nothing has gone onto that port since I plugged in the official usb adapter 2 weeks ago into my new windows desktop where I flashed to latest firmware, and setup with no problems.

I can also confirm the usb itself is recognised in my Linux desktop, windows desktop, and windows laptop. (COM3, ttyUSB0)

The only factor that doesn't work is the SYS port side. I even tried another official usb adapter. I wonder what happened in these last 2 weeks of my Heli sitting still that causes this.

Is this FBL now trashed or can I get it repaired?

Update, after restarting all my computers, it now works with the windows desktop that I used to flash firmware to spirit. The fbl still does not like my other two computers however.
