I successfully updated the GTR to version 4.0.5 and was then able to configure the GeoLink v2 parameters. Suddenly, the connection to GeoLink was lost. Even after several attempts to restart the device, using a different computer, and trying various USB ports, the connection to the Spirit GTR remained stable. But as soon as I opened the “aid” tab in GeoLink, the GeoLink window disappeared. I tried to reflash the firmware, which was currently version 1.4.1, but that wasn’t possible. I was able to flash the old version version 1.4.0. After that, numerous attempts to flash version 1.4.1 again resulted in error messages and attempts to flash in recovery mode. Despite many error messages, I was still able to successfully flash a working version 1.4.1. The connection to GeoLink worked again for a while, but then dropped again when I clicked the “aid” tab. The Spirit Settings app then has to be closed using Task Manager, as it freezes and stops responding.
I know that some USB connections to Spirit—especially from laptops— are unstable. However, I used a PC that has always communicated reliably with Spirit and GeoLink.
BEC voltage is very stable.
