Wiring is YGE original with thinner signal cables (that you see from above) cut to minimum lengths. Power cables are double 0.35qmm. It's this (PowerBox?) aircraft grade stuff with thinner insulation. In all (Jeti) logs, RC power supply looks absolutely healthy.
What do you mean with "uneven endpoints"? At 0° tail pitch, all links are at 90° and maximum pitch is as on most helis not symmetrical.
Tail control is perfect even at 1000/min headspeed, oscillations can neither be seen nor heard. Setup took me a while and even AI-Assistant is satisfied.
No logs from the event available. As written above it was not that easy to get the Spirit logging running.

All Controls Suddenly Gone!
I checked your settings and compared banks and I can confirm there is no settings that could be responsible for unexpected behavior you described.
I am only sure that Pirouette Consistency is extremely high for your model and servo. Value above 210 is really too high there, will cause excess servo stress and possibly overheating. So to compensate this, you have to use lower Gyro Gain than can be used.
If settings were same all the time then we can exclude anything as reason there.

The most probable explanation from known data is:
1) You updated firmware to 4.0.5
2) Logging was set to 500Hz
3) You downgraded firmware while unsupported settings available only with software 4.0.5 was still present while 4.0.4 firmware was used.
4) During spoolup unit started subsequent logging and during this moment something went wrong, probably in combination with mutliple previous failures of logging attempts (that were due to memory being full within few seconds). Additionally with memory content that was completely unsupported this could lead to some unexpected scenarios.
This is only theoretic explanation and it could be very wrong, since we can't reproduce this problem.
But in any case, as soon as you did some settings changes with 4.0.5, it is always recommended to run the latest firmware which is 4.0.5 at the moment, even if something works well.
Testing backward compatibilty back in time is technically not possible, so we do not recommend trying these unsupported combinations for flying.

Thank you very much for all your efforts! If we assume that the downgrade is a possible cause, then we shouldn’t expect any further faults when running V4.0.5, especially with logging turned off, should we?
As for the high tail I-gain setting: The servo stays completely cool all the time. It remained so even during the really high outside temperatures last summer. Nevertheless, I’ll turn gains down a bit!
