I am setting up an Align 500esp with a 1000kv motor, running approx. 1700 rpm with 435 asymmetrical main blades and 95mm tail blades. It is presently set up and running smoothly on an AR7200BX however I wish to utilize the "bail out" function of the Spirit and also need to add an AR8000 to utilize the extra channels for the lights, landing gear etc. Any set up tips would be appreciated for low head speeds.
Thanks in advance for any tips or advice :D

With AR8000 you can do so without any issue.

For scale helicopter I recommend to set Flight Style parameter to 8, Cyclic Rotation Speed to approx. 7.
You can also use preset for Trex 500 helicopter in the wizard.

I setup this ESP 500 with the AR8000 and it was flying really well but I decided that I needed an extra channel for lights etc. so replaced the AR8000 with a Spektrum 9020(need 9 channels) and moved the Spirit/ receiver from the conventional position above the boom/gear box onto a extended plate in front ( ie below the battery where the canopy would fit so that it is accessible when in the fuse). HOWEVER since then I've had to 2 rolls, one left and right on take off. Still out the fuse but blades damaged :? . Been through setup and connections/ settings as per AR8000 and can't see any issue.
Thinking of moving it back to original position to test maybe vibes or maybe a setting needs to change for the different Rx. Any ideas please Tomas and the brains trust on here.
Thanks again in advance for any help or suggestions.

That is sad.

Did you changed to SRXL connection type or still using PWM?
When changing receiver type, you have to re-do travel adjust and channel reversing. There could be a major difference so when trying to move to the left it can go to the right instead.

You can check everything on the ground. But with PWM I believe it should be same.

Tomas, I think it's still on PWM( same setting as AR8000,at work so need to confirm later) and the swash direction and piro optimization is correct on the ground.
Must it be on SRXL- don't use expander facilities or governor.

If it was PWM (you are using normal cables), then it should just work as good as with AR8000.
If not, then make sure that cables are OK. Especially if all pins are good and in place (in servo connectors).

I have got the Airwolf all sorted now but not really sure about the difference in the default Flight Styles. At the moment I'm using Flight Style parameter 8 as recommended by Thomas but realized after the last flight  that I still had 20% expo in the Tx. so I'm going to remove this and see if the flights are more 'connected' but not sure how the different parameters effect the way the heli flys. I realize its all subjective and how you like it but does each parameter just default to certain expo settings in the Spirit or what other settings change when changing the flight styles?

You can change also Cyclic Feed Forward. This can change a lot. You can also use Expo together, because Spirit does not use any internal expos.
